Strengthing: Hamilton County 4-H 3-13-20

There is a lot of confusing information out there about COVID-19 also known as the Coronavirus. Let me assure you that Hamilton County 4-H is doing its best to address the diverse needs of our population while also working to limit exposure and ensure the welfare of our must vulnerable citizens.

The plan is simple, 4-H is holding trainings and meetings virtually or postponing them until April 20th. Our club advisors have been briefed on ways to engage youth digitally and will receive updated resources on how to do that regularly.

4-H Alumni Spotlight- Rebecca Thomas

Rebecca Thomas (nee Allgeier) is a well respected Hamilton County 4-H Alumni and Volunteer who has been actively working to improve the state of 4-H in Hamilton County for years. Recently she accompanied two current 4-H members and the 4-H Educator to Columbus to meet with legislators to advocate for 4-H. With a short turn around Rebecca showed up in full force to share the good news of 4-H.

Two Minutes with Tony: My Own Life's Narrative

When my life comes to a close I wonder what stories they’ll tell. Will there be narratives of bravery in the face of adversity, stories of compassion in moments of trouble or quips about the funny things I said.

There’s no way to know exactly what history will report so, I must live my life in away so that everything is worthy of note.

There is no success without passion. There is no love without understanding. There is no power without cooperation. The reality is that the greatest leaders are followers, playing a role in a successful system. The sun will rise tomorrow but, will you be here to enjoy that warmth?

Two Minutes with Tony: A Photographers Guide to Visioning

There are three important elements I consider when trying to take a good, long distance picture. Stability, clarity and purpose.

First, to get a clear picture, I need to make sure that the camera is stable. So, I use a tri-pod.  

Second, when I zoom in, the atmosphere tends to wash out the image. To see the image clearly, I need to take photographs on a clear day and use editing software to render a usable image.
