4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills as they work in partnership with caring adults.  What does that mean? In 4-H we are committed to helping young people develop skills that will help them succeed. We want to empower all youth to reach their full potential.

In Hamilton County, we improve our communities through our Community Clubs, SPIN Clubs, Camps and Classroom Programs.

Cincinnati Buckeye Run, Walk and Ride 2021 Registration Open

Join us for the 4th annual Cincinnati Buckeye Run, Walk, or Ride for Hamilton County 4-H.

This year we are asking participants to commit to a 5K, 10K or 15K route. 

  • If you complete your 5K you'll get a 4-H Ribbon.
  • If you complete your 10K you'll get a 4-H wrist band.
  • If you complete your 15K you'll get a Medal.

To help you we'll be incorporating ongoing events and virtual experiences to prepare us for a healthy and active lifestyle while still supporting Hamilton County 4-H.

New 4-H Club in Evanston Embraces Service

The rain didn't deter Advisors Hope and Alphanso Johnson-Gordon from activating 38 youth to work in a local community garden for Global Youth Service Day.

Global Youth Service Day is the largest youth service and civic action event in the world and the only one that celebrates all youth ages 5-25. On April 23-25, youth and adults alike were called to engage, serve, advocate, join, celebrate, or build capacity.

ChickQuest: Let's Learn about Life

They are fluffy, they are cute, and they are part of the food system. Hamilton County ChickQuest is well underway with the first clutch of chicks finding their new home on Friday, April 23, 2021.

This spring more than 600 eggs were incubated, hatched, and cared for by students across Hamilton County. From the youth in the urban core to those in the far reaches of the county, every teacher shared the same story of wonder and excitement, frustration, and relief.

If you have never hatched an egg, it is not a terribly difficult process if you have the right equipment.

Hamilton County 4-H Members Wins 2nd at DECA Conference

In a year of unprecedented experiences 4-H youth continue to thrive and find ways to succeed.

Prior to the slowdown caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic, Beth Mason had been meeting with Hamitlon County 4-H on her vision to help market and promote 4-H during the Hamilton County Community Fair. Her hard work translated into a social media campaign, promotions plan and innovative programming ideas.

The Art of Speaking

The Art of Speaking is the newest SPIN club from the programming partnership between Butler, Greene and Hamilton Counties. This state wide SPIN club is designed for all youth in third grade and beyond.

Youth will learn: the art of public speaking, giving demonstrations, speech writing, proper gesturing and body movements, interviewing, poster-making and how to effectively present materials, and how to speak in leadership roles.

Dates for all 6 classes in 2021:  4/14, 4/21, 4/28, 5/5, 5/12, 5/19

ChickQuest 2021!

Spring is just around the corner and that means it is ChickQuest season!

In a typical year Hamilton County 4-H Serves over 2000 youth through this educational and inspirational program.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic we are forced to re-evaluate how to best serve our county youth and take the necessary steps to ensure that the programs we offer educate, inspire, and protect our community.
