Last fall I planted a few Daffodils in an expanded flowerbed. It was a welcomed sight when their bright yellow flowers began to appear this spring.

But the flowers are starting to fade, and the weeds are showing through. And I’m realizing a very important lesson.

Weed control is about long-term lifestyle choices not short-term aggression.

Poultry Clinic a Success for Hamilton County 4-H Members

In a wonderful partnership between Hamilton County 4-H, The Hamilton County Community Fair Association and Butler County Extension 30+ 4-H members, families and supporters attended the annual Hamilton County 4-H Poultry Clinic. This year's special guest was none other than our very own JT Benitez from Butler County. JT is well versed in poultry care and management. As a local expert he brings with him not only his own experiences but the full breadth of resources from The Ohio State University, College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.

Two Minutes with Tony: A Photographers Guide to Visioning

There are three important elements I consider when trying to take a good, long distance picture. Stability, clarity and purpose.

First, to get a clear picture, I need to make sure that the camera is stable. So, I use a tri-pod.  

Second, when I zoom in, the atmosphere tends to wash out the image. To see the image clearly, I need to take photographs on a clear day and use editing software to render a usable image.
