  2. Extension's Innovation Station 'Hits the Road' to Focus on Youth with Developmental Disabilities

    Now in our third year, Hamilton County Extension Innovation Station Summer Enrichment Program ‘hit the road’ to work with youth, ages 5-15, with developmental disabilities. Extension shares with Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services (HCDDS) Board Mission to promote and support opportunities for people with developmental disabilities to live, work, learn and fully participate in their communities.

  3. Hamilton County Extension Welcomes State Representative Brigid Kelly

    State Representative Brigid Kelly (House District 31) was in the community of Northside and visited with Hamilton County Extension on Monday, July 24th. The Extension office moved in January from Mt. Airy Forest to the former Northside Adult Center building located at 4210 Dane Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45223. The Hamilton County Extension office is open Monday through Friday; hours are from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

  4. HAMILTON COUNTY IS NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2017 MASTER GARDENER VOLUNTEER TRAINING CLASS

    OSU Extension, Hamilton County is now accepting applications for their 2017 Master Gardener Volunteer Training Class.  The Master Gardener Volunteer Program provides intensive training in horticulture to interested gardeners who then volunteer their time assisting with educational programs and activities for Ohio residents through their Ohio State University County Extension Office. The Master Gardener training course consists of a minimum of 50 hours of instruction.

  7. 4-H Agri-Science in the City, Global Youth Service Day Project- Sponsored by Serve Ohio

    The weather was cool and the day filled with excitement. On April 21st 4-H students from Pleasant Hill Academy participated in their first Global Youth Service Day. The project was designed to benefit the local community garden used by the College Hill Gardeners and the school. The audacious project involved over 200 students which culminated in the building of an octagon shaped garden bed and the planting of a bean tepee.

  8. Earth Day Celebration

    Hamilton County Extension participated in the Earth Day Celebration at the Blue Ash Recreation Center on April 19th.  It was a great success with over 600 attendees! The guests enjoyed the interactive displays and giveaways.

    Margarita M. Lewis, Expanded Food & Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) Program Assistant with The Ohio State University Extension, Hamilton County, was featured in a food demonstration on local WKRC-TV, Channel 12 with Good Morning Cincinnati hosts Shelia Gray and John Lomax.

  10. The Asian Longhorned Beetle (ALB) Training Program for Green Industry Professionals: A Success!

    Over 60 participants took part in this training program in Bethel, OH, on Friday, March 17, 2017.  The educational program combined classroom-style teaching with hands on field training to arm Green Industry professionals with the ability to effectively detect and properly report ALB infestations.
