    Are you a 9th- 12th grade student looking to develop your leadership skills while serving the Hamilton County Community? Apply to be a Hamilton County Jr. Fair Board Member.

    OSU Extension and the Hamilton County Fair are partnering to seek applicants for the Jr. Fair Board. Members will serve as leaders and ambassadors for the Hamilton County Fair.

    Jr. Fair Board Members will:

    •         Assist Jr. Fair Species Superintendents.

    •         Assist in planning and conducting Jr. Fair activities, shows and events.

  7. Hamilton County Master Gardener Volunteer (MGV) Program Receives an Award at the State MGV Conference

    The 2020 Virtual State MGV Conference was recently held October 22-23, with over 500 registered to attend. MGV's from around the state and beyond joined together for this exciting two-day event. On Thursday evening, MGVs around the state celebrated their award winning programs, Master Gardener Volunteers, Friends of the MGV program and Coordinators.  The Hamilton County Master Gardener Volunteer program was awarded the Overall Winner in the Large Program category for our project with Druffel Garden.

    From microchips to concrete, all resources are initially derived from the environment. Environmental literacy is a competency that is equally as important as learning to read and count. One does not need to know the specifics of the natural world, but should have an appreciation for the cycles, the elements, and power of the environment.

  10. Let's Start Cooking: Veggie Pizza and Knife Skills

    Join Extension Educator, Tony Staubach as he makes veggie pizza as part of the Let's Start Cooking SPIN Club.

    The Virtual SPIN Club has been meeting for four weeks and has taken students on a journey thourough the kitchen while teaching skills on health, safety, and how to accurately measure ingredients.

    Last week youth learned knife skills under the instruction of Tony Staubach and under the watchful eye of their parents who all graciously agreed to be on the call during the lesson to ensure safety.
