Ew... cicadas?

These lovely little insects have a rich cultural back story and play an important role in our ecosystem.
Far from dormant, these flying insects emerge periodically and provide a show for all of those who look on.
Presented by the Hamilton County 4-H Advisory Committee, the "Summer of Cicadas" art project is a roaming exhibit of 10 works of art that will travel throughout Hamilton County.
The first stop was at the Hamilton County Community Fair at Strickers Grove from July 7 to 10, 2021.
Visitors were able to vote for their favorite work of art.
To date more than 21 votes have been cast for the 10 works of art.
The next stop on the tour is the Hamilton County Fair at the Fairgrounds in Carthage. The event will run from August 12-15, 2021 and will feature 4-H displays from youth throughout Hamilton County.
To see the Cicada Art in person visit the Hamilton County Fair from August 12 - 15 or be on the look out for the third stop which will be at the Harvest Home Fair in September at the Harvest Home Park in Cheviot.
