21 Participants, 175 kilometers, and $300 raised at this years virtual Cincinnati Buckeye Run!

While the pandemic has changed how we engage with our community our shifted much of our programming to a virtual format, events like the Second Annual Cincinnati Buckeye Run still occurred in a different way.

In 2020, participants were asked to register online and were encouraged to donate, though the event was offered free of charge.

Participants had the opportunity to run, walk or ride their way to a 5K, with many of them submitting more than 5K. Participants traveled a distance equal to driving from the OSU Extension, Hamilton County office to the Nationwide and Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center.

This was the first time OSU Extension, Hamilton County held a run virtually and the event was successful at brining awareness to 4-H and encouraging participants to focus on that final "H", Health. 14 different trails, resources and physical activity locations were identified and shared via social media through our partners with Green Umbrella, Cincinnati Parks, Hamilton County Parks and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

Donations and runners logs continue to come in from participants and donations to support Hamilton County 4-H continue to be encouraged. You can donate here: https://www.giveto.osu.edu/makeagift/OnlineGivingDonation.aspx?Source_Code=WA&Fund=315767.

We are looking forward to the next Cincinnati Buckeye Run in 2021 which will have a virtual format to hopefully compliment an in person event next September. The virtual event will take place September 5, 2021 - September 19, 2021.
