Be a HERO - Organ Donation

Last modified 2008-03-31 15:35

April is National Organ & Tissue Donation Awareness Month

HAMILTON COUNTY 4H SUPPORTS AWARENESS and ENCOURAGES REGISTRATION

Right now, nearly 3,000 Ohioans are waiting for a life-saving organ transplant.
Hundreds more wait for a healing tissue transplant. And yet, only about 50% of
Ohioans, age 16 or older, have registered to become an organ and tissue donor.

The need for more donors is vital. Especially when a single organ donor can save the
lives of up to EIGHT people and heal up to 50 more through tissue and eye donation.
That's why Hamilton County 4H is participating, with dozens of other organizations across Ohio, in
the “DONATE. SAVE 8. DO IT NOW!” registration drive.

Every individual is being asked to log-on to www.doitnowohio.org/uc to
learn more about organ and tissue donation; to register your name in the Ohio
Donor Registry if you have not already done so; (even if you think you are already a registered donor, you can go online to re-register and make sure) then
contact EIGHT people and encourage them to do the same!

Rarely does something of such minimal effort generate such enormous impact!

On behalf of Donate Life Ohio thank you in
advance for your participation in this important endeavor.
Donors literally give the gift of life. DO IT NOW!
